Every year students look for textbooks, revision booklets and ready summaries. The real question is how to make sure you understand what is in the book. The book is for learning; questions are for checking.
The textbook first
- Official exam questions are written from the set textbook, not from summaries.
- Get your stream's set books from your school or the Ministry of Education's official channels.
- Worked examples and end-of-lesson exercises are closest to the exam style.
Booklets and summaries
- A summary helps quick review after you understand the lesson, not instead of it.
- Beware of summaries that drop definitions and reasons; many marks sit there.
One lesson: book, then questions
- 1Read the lesson once with its examples.
- 2Close the book and answer ten questions.
- 3Reread only what you got wrong.
- 4Repeat the questions two days later.
Read once and practise twice: then you know you are ready.
A bank organised like your book
EXAMEV banks follow the Palestinian and Egyptian set books lesson by lesson, with the same unit and lesson names.
