Arabic is a reliable source of marks in Tawjihi for students who practise, and a loss for those who only read. This guide walks through the grade 12 book unit by unit.
Reading and texts
- The play “Ghuroob Al-Andalus”, the essays and the two short stories, including Ghassan Kanafani's.
- Poems such as “Ramallah” and “A Refugee's Will”: imagery, emotion and explaining lines.
Grammar
- Diptotes, i'lal and ibdal, verbal nouns, particle meanings, and clauses with a grammatical position.
- Always write the reason; it carries marks.
Prosody
- Four metres: al-wafir, al-tawil, al-basit and al-khafif. Practise scansion line by line.
A correct grammar answer without a reason may earn only half the mark.
